47. PUBLIC SWIMMING POOL
Swimming pool at the margin of the urban structure.
The main purpose of this project is the creation of a landscape. Such building process is not intended as a mimetic project or as an object immersed in nature: it is rather intended as a project that mitigates nature and architecture together as dialogical poles within a mutually necessary relation. The objectives of the project are the mediation between natural and artificial grounds and the combination of routes and open spaces. The depth and height of each interior space are calibrated in relation to their specific use; nevertheless, the alternation between glass walls delimiting such spaces and open spaces (gardens and patios) brings back the perception of the whole to a unitary space modulated sculpted by diverse natural light sources. In correspondence to the building's headers, as a background to the view from the interior, the modulation of the floor artificially constructs natural landscapes.
